What you need to know about the shoe warehouse in New York City
Designer shoe warehouse, which closed its doors in 2017, is still a popular destination for shoppers.
It’s been one of the few places on the West Coast that offers custom shoes and accessories for women.
This is the first of a series of posts that will explore the history and the future of the shoe-maker’s warehouse in Manhattan.
The former shoe warehouse is located at 30 Madison Avenue in New Jersey, across from the Grand Central Terminal.
When it closed its gates in 2016, the space was packed with hundreds of thousands of pairs of shoes and about a dozen different kinds of accessories, many of which have since been re-purposed.
As of this week, the warehouse had roughly 1,500 shoes, according to a post on the shoe website SockIt.com, which catalogs shoe inventory.
“We are incredibly proud of the shoes that we’ve been able to re-sell to consumers,” said Daniel Biederman, a former shoe store manager who co-founded the company with his wife, Heather.
“We’re proud of being able to serve our clients and bring in such a large amount of shoes.”

Biederman said the store was not as popular as he remembered, but he said it helped him keep busy as he transitioned to running.
Today, Biedman said the warehouse serves as a haven for a few of the people he knew growing up in New England, including his father and his brother, who still run the business.
“It’s kind of a safe haven, especially if you have kids,” Biedermans father, Daniel Biermann, told Business Insider.
“It’s really a good way to keep people together.
If you have a big group of people, you can be really isolated.”
Biedermants brother, Matt Biedermann, ran the company from his childhood home in Connecticut until he moved to New York to pursue his education at Columbia University.
Biedermen father said it’s hard to put a precise number on how many shoes are still in the warehouse.
“We don’t know how many are actually in the shoe business,” he said.
According to the company’s website, there are about 1,300 shoe brands in the world, ranging from brands like Adidas to designers like Kanye West.
Each year, the company sells about 1.2 million pairs of shoe shoes, Bierman said.
“They’re a lot of shoes, so you can get a lot more for a lot less.”
The company has expanded its product range since the shuttering of its previous warehouse, and in 2019, it added a line of men’s sneakers.
In 2018, Brederman said, he had plans to expand the store to handle more orders from women.
“You don’t have to go out of your way to see the women’s shoe, but I think it’s important to have it for women,” he explained.
Now, Bieermans business is focused on re-shipping shoes from customers.
For women, it has expanded into a full-line clothing line, and he has launched his own shoe store.
He said the shoe store has also expanded its services to include catering, catering to retailers, as well as helping people who need to make reservations for events or other business purposes.
On the day of the store’s grand opening in 2018, the New York Post reported that the store had received more than $30 million in orders for its shoes and apparel.
But the company was forced to close its doors after more than a year because of a lack of money from the state of New Jersey.
Since then, the Bieders have hired a new business owner, and the company has made a lot in the process.
A few of its former employees have now joined the company, and Biedertmans brother has recently started to expand his company.
So far, the store has seen sales of more than 100,000 pairs of sneakers and shoesets a month, according and the website SocksIt.
“We’ve been working hard to keep our customers happy,” Biesmann said.
“The people that have worked here over the years have done a phenomenal job, and we want to thank them for that.”
