New York magazine’s Michel Deutsch, whose previous work includes a series on design-oriented living, has a new book out titled Designing a House That Works: How to Think Like a Designer.

Deutsch says her book is a “very clear and concise guide to building a smart, smart home.”

Designing Smart Homes is a collection of ideas from Deutsch that you can download for free, including a design guide that lays out the steps to creating a smart home.

Desch says the goal is to give you the tools you need to start designing a smart house in your own time.
